Veteran director K. Viswanath conferred Dadasaheb Phalke award

One of the best film directors in Indian cinema K Viswanath, who delivered cult classics like Sankarabharanam, Sagara Sangamam, Swathi Muthyam and Saptapadi during the 80s and 90s. His films are most memorable as content and music are truly inspiring.

According to reliable sources, Kasinathuni Viswanath was conferred Dadasaheb Phalke award, which is said to be country’s highest achievement in cinema, by the Indian government.

He started his career as a sound designer and worked as a director under Adurthi Subbarao. He became a director with ANR’s Aatma Gowravam in 1965. He went to director blockbuster hits.
